The Silk Road in My Eyes Good evening，everyone! It’s you who give me great honour to be here. I would like to share some of my ideas with you on the topic of ”The Silk Road in My Eyes". The Silk Road is the ancient trade route， connecting Asia and Europe. The Silk Road starts from Chang’an （now my hometown—-—Xi’an）, travelling west to Wei River, passing through Hexi Corridor to Dunhuang and goes west to Europe。 As we all know， the Silk Road started after Zhang Qian's visiting to Western Region in the Han Dynasty. He and his group went there twice .People there gave their best to us Chinese。In return, Chinese gave coal, paper， silk， tea and other goods to them as presents. So the Silk Road got its name 。People on this road not only bought the goods， but also exchanged their ideas and techniques. The Silk Road developed greatly during Tang Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty. Have you heard of 《The Travels of Marco Polo 》，which introduced China to western countries? It is the Silk Road that made the world rich and colourful ! The Silk Road is about 6500 kilometres long！ Along the way you can visit lots of places of interest, such as the Terra Cotta Warriors， the Bell and Drum Tower, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the Yellow River, the Mogao Caves and so on. So welcome to have a trip to the Silk Road! You can learn - 1 - about the history and culture of China along the way！ You can walk the same road on a camel as Marco Polo!
