高考英语复习知识点指导:“说”法种种



语言是交际的工具。要交际就离不开。在英语中表示的语汇不多,无非hearlisten to,因为听就是耳朵接受声音信号的一个简单动作。而就不同了——人们的事情包罗万象,的场景因时而异,的对象不断改变,自然法就有所不同。

[表示与说话内容有关的”] 1. chat表示聊天,闲聊。例如:

The two friends sat in the corner and chatted away to each other about the weather. 两个朋友坐在角落里很火热地聊着天气。

chat sb. up表示与某人搭讪 2. complain表示抱怨。例如:

She complained that he had been rude to her. 她抱怨他对她粗鲁。 3. explain表示解释。例如:

“Please excuse me” he calmly explained “I wanted to know where all my customers had gone last week.” “很对不起,王鹏心平气和地解释道,上周我想知道我的顾客上哪儿吃饭去了。

4. suggest表示建议suggest后接已有的事实时,从句的谓语用陈述语气,此时suggest相当于saysuggest后接说话之后要做的动作时,谓语用虚拟语气。例如:

To prevent this from happening again John Snow suggested that the source of all water supplies be examined. 为了防止这种情况再度发生,约翰·斯诺建议所有水源都要经过检测。

[表示语调和音量的”]

1. murmur表示低语;喃喃细语。例如:

He turned and murmured something to the professor. 他转过身,小声对教授说了些什么。

2. shout表示大声说。例如:

“May I ask what you were doing in my restaurant the other day I thought you were a new customer and now I know that you only came to spy on me and my menu” she shouted.

3. sigh既可以表示叹气;叹息,也可以表示叹着气说;叹息道。例如:

Wang Peng was enjoying a second plate of dumplings so he sighed. “Yes” he added “and I would miss my dumplings and fatty pork.”

4. whisper表示耳语,低声说。例如:

Mum whispered to us “Be quiet Your little sisters sleeping.” 妈妈低声对我们说:安静点!小妹妹在睡觉。


5. stress表示强调。例如:

The teacher stressed again that the students should not leave out any important details while retelling the story. 老师再次强调学生在复述这个故事时不应遗漏任何重要细节。

6. yell表示叫喊;大喊;吼叫

Another whaler yelled out “Rush-oo ... rush-oo.” 另一位捕鲸人大声喊叫:快走……走啊。

[与说话时间有关的”]

1. add可以表示又说;补充说。例如:

“Yes” he added “and I would miss my dumplings and fatty pork.” “同样,他又说道,我还想吃我的饺子和肥肉呢。

2. 表示(曾经)说过put it。例如:

As my husband put it “my grandparents gave me a deep sense that things would turn out right in the end.” 正如我丈夫所说的那样:我祖父母给我一个深刻的感觉,就是事情最后会好起来的。

3. continue可以表达继续说;接着说。例如: “In fact” he continued “Id like to congratulate you.” [与说话场合有关的”]

1. announce表示通知;宣布。例如:

He announced that whichever knight could take it out was Britains true king. 他宣布無论哪个骑士,只要他能把它拔出来,他就是大不列颠真正的国王。

2. declare表示宣布。例如:

In 1846 the United States declared war on Mexico and after the war won by the USA Mexico had to give California to the USA. 1846年美国向墨西哥宣战,美国胜利之后,墨西哥被迫把加利福尼亚割让给美国。endprint

另外,declare也可以表示郑重其事地说。例如:

She cried out “Tony” and then heard him declare that he didnt want to leave her the next day and that he felt more than just the desire to please her. 她大叫一声托尼,然后听到托尼一本正经地说,明天他不想离开她,而且他并不满足于仅仅使她开心。

3. talk表示谈话在一般情况下,是不及物动词。常用talk to/with sb. about sth.句型。例如:

She never tires of talking about her clever son. 她不厌其烦地谈论她的儿子。 The girls talk too much. 那些女孩子话太多。

另外,talk sb. into doing sth.表示说服某人做某事 talk sb. out of doing sth.表示说服某人不做某事。例如:


I didnt want to move abroad but Bill talked me into it. 我本不想移居国外,但是比尔把我说服了。

4. speak讲话的意思,不接内容或对象作宾语。例如:

I do not understand why my sisters spoke as they did. 我不理解我妹妹为什么像他们那样讲话。

另外,speak表示持(某种语言),与说话的场合无关。此时speak可接表示语言的名词作宾语。例如:

The baby is learning to speak French. 婴儿在学习法语。 [与说话方式有关的”]

1. breathe一般表示呼吸,但也有说出之义。例如: Dont breathe a word of it. 不要走漏只言片语。

2. giggle表示咯咯地笑,也可以表示咯咯地笑着说。例如:

“I beg your pardon” she giggled. “对不起,你说什么?她咯咯地笑着问。 3. relate表示叙述;讲。例如:

He related how the accident happened. 他叙述了事故发生的经过。

4. say表示,后接人表示说话的对象时是不及物动词,需配合介词to;接内容时及物,无论是直接引语还是间接引语。有say sth. to sb.这样的句型。例如:

“I feel sick with all this fat and heavy food”she said “I miss my vegetables and fruit.”

Its hard to say who is right in this matter.

5. tell表示告诉tell可以同时带人和内容作宾语。例如:

The teacher told the children not to talk in class. 老师告诉孩子们上课不要讲小话。 此外,argue(爭论) confirm(证实) criticize(批评) protest抗议) report(报告)和scold(责骂)等在适当的语境下也有的意思。由此可见,英语中有关的表达方式实在是太多了,在此不可能尽数录入,但我们有必要在平日的学习中留意它们,适当地进行归纳,以提高我们的理解能力和表达能力。
