Located in the eastern of the Liaoning province, Donggang is a coastal city, south of the Yellow Sea, the east to the Yalu river, and north Korea. Dong gang lies in the of Northeast Asia, is an important transportation of North Korea,South Korea, Russia, Japan. Donggang covers a total area of 2396 Square kilometers with a population of 640000.People in donggang can enjoy typical Temperate monsoon climate,which is a good place for people to live in.The temperature here is neither high nor low. In winter, the average temperature is —2℃ and in summer is 25℃.The rainy season is between June and July. SO the plants here live well. It`s coastline has a total length of 93.3 kilometers and there are more than 140 kinds of seafood. So Donggang is one of the main production and export base of Chinese shrimp. There are abundant water resources-----12 main rivers and 42 reservoir. The main crop is rice.The “Donggang rice” has become the pride of local people and the pronoun of Donggang. The economy of donggang has been developing rapidly. Great changes have taken place in the small city. In the past, there used to be low houses.Now they have been relaced by the tall buildings. The villagers are really satisfied with their lives now. What`s more, Donggang has been listed among the top 500 strongest cities in economy several times. Donggang has convenient transportation. Because there are not many people and the good road condition, the traffic here is not busy. you can drive fast on wide road. Of course you can go outside on water because it is a coastal city. There are many must-see places in Donggang. One of the most famous is the Yalu River Mouth Coastal Wetlands, which is a national nature reserve. The main object of protection is the coastal wetland and ecosystem. Every year many kinds of birds come here for migration and rest, thus leading a lot of people from all the over the world to come here to have a visit. Another beautiful place is Roe island.
