It is the typical representative of the modern representation of the settlement and the landscape of the settlement. Watershed is the origin of settlement, the settlement of the heritage landscape has a distinct watershed personality, Fen River is the mother river in Shanxi, the ancient village heritage of the basin, scattered in the Fen River Valley of the ancient village records thousands of years of farming culture. The origin, development and evolution of the settlement culture have become the epitome of the farming culture and settlement culture in Shanxi. Due to the different background and development conditions of the ancient villages in the basin, the landscape elements of the ancient villages are different from those of the landscape. The study on the landscape differentiation and the background of the ancient villages in the Fen River Basin is of great significance to the protection and development of the ancient village heritage.
